A new fitness tracker has just been launched in the US, and it has come from the Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronics corporation, Acer, in their first attempt in the fitness tracker market.

Known usually for PCs and laptops the new Liquid Leap+ will sport 3 interchangeable bands in pink, black and green, and will be available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone operating systems.

If it’s a waterproof fitness band you have been looking for then this is the device for you as it has an IPX7 rating which means that you can take it up to a meter under the water - so you can use it in the shower, and to swim with but it wouldn’t be recommended if you are diving as this will probably end up damaging the tracker.

The Acer Liquid Leap+ comes complete with a small OLED display which will help you keep track on your activities and counts. What is surprising about the display is that trackers of this size usually don’t have them because of how small the bands are (like the Jawbone UP24).

Another benefit of the new device for the US market is that it weighs next to nothing so you probably won’t even feel the band on your wrist, measuring in at 1-inch wide and weighing a mere 18 grams.

If you are eagerly awaiting battery life information then you will get around 120 hours of battery life from a full charge (5 days), and a standby time of around 240 hours. Charging the tracker can be done via a micro USB, similar to any Android Smartphone.
